Trudog is also an activist. He is a facilitator for the Black Men’s Xchange in Harlem and has worked with Al Sharpton, Eric Adams and Kevin Powell. He recently attended a Fund Raiser in Chelsea for Bill Thompson, City Comptroller. Trudog says, “I want to use my CD to bring attention to the relationship between the city and aspiring artists. My record label is grassroots and it is getting tougher for artists at my level to be creative for profit. The city just passed legislation requiring artists to obtain a permit to shoot video in the city. That permit comes with a million dollar insurance policy. I think that law is grossly unfair to upcoming talent. The Administration’s harsh attitude toward night life in the city is stripping Manhattan of its diversity. In the 90’s there were over 3000 venues with cabaret licenses; now there are less than 300. I want to make NYC dance again. I recently got an offer to perform in Wyoming and I turned it down. If I want to go the mid-West, I’ll go to Times Square.”
